The FN SCAR 15P is a semi-automatic pistol chambered for 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington. It has a 7.5-inch hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel, a 30+1 capacity and a 19.75-inch overall length. The Flat Dark Earth receiver carries Picatinny rail sections, ambidextrous controls and a folding SB Tactical FS1913 pistol brace. It weighs 5.65 pounds, and one 30-round magazine is included.

Montana adds nothing to the federal process: there is no permit to purchase, no registration and no waiting period. The dealer runs the FBI background check at the counter, and federal law sets the age at 21 for a handgun from a dealer. For a Montana owner, the 7.5-inch barrel and brace describe a compact configuration for range use, and the threaded barrel and optic-ready rail leave room for later changes.
